Form shop-lots to empty plot of land, I had scoured sites after sites around Ipoh
town, wanting the most intimate and architecturally appropriate surroundings I could
find for my dream spa and one-stop beauty adventure. When I came across the abandoned
colonial house which is truly a priceless piece due to its rich history, I couldn’t
resist it. It was like “love at first sight”, instantly drawn to the setting and
it feels almost intimate imagining the picturesque historic home that will soon be
converted to what it is now known as, Banyan Beauty, a one-stop wellness and beauty
centre.
When it comes to spa and massage, Malaysians haven’t taken to the one-stop wellness
concept as readily as foreigners but with the launch of one of the most unique surroundings,
the Banyan Spa, there’s more incentive to hit the spa than ever.
There’s always a misconception of the word “spa” as most people associated spa and
massage as a form of luxurious indulgence. The is untrue - there is a necessity for
every individual to treat their body with at least a basic session of spa and massage
therapy that will soothe the soul and calm the mind, a kind of treatment that you

Often missed by tourists en route to Penang
Island, Ipoh other than being famous as a food haven, has an abundance of natural
resources that can transform into ecotourism like hot springs, limestone hills, caves,
freshwater lake and unexploited pristine forest with rock formation that at times
has hot been truly appreciated by many Malaysians. Some of these natural eco-tourist
sites are a rare gem for Perakians and that unspoiled sites has inspired me to create
a similar natural thematic spa and wellness centre as close as possible to Mother
Nature in the heart of the city.
